Terms of Use for PCN/PalmerNaz.org

The Terms of Use that follow govern access to and use of the Palmer Church of The Nazarene web site, otherwise known as PCN and/or PalmerNaz.org.  The terms PCN and/or PalmerNaz.org refer to any of the web sites under the Palmer Church of The Nazarene, and the department and ministry web sites hosted there.  By accessing or using PCN/PalmerNaz.org, you agree to follow and to be legally bound by these Terms of Use.

Privacy

The Palmer Church of The Nazarene recognizes the privacy concerns of users of PCN/PalmerNaz.org and the importance of protecting the privacy of personally identifiable information collected from them.  As a general policy, no personally identifiable information, such as a visitor’s name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, IP address, or credit card information is automatically collected on our web site.  Such information is collected only when knowingly and voluntarily submitted, and the Palmer Church of The Nazarene uses such information only for the purpose for which it was submitted, unless we disclose other uses in these Terms of Use or at the time of collection.  We do not give, sell, trade, or rent any personally identifiable information on a visitor to any third party, except where necessary to serve the needs of that visitor.  On joining our community, you may receive periodic newsletters from the Palmer Church of The Nazarene, PCN/PalmerNaz.org, or one of its departments or ministries sent to the email address you provide.  You may unsubscribe after you receive your first newsletter.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of thirteen. If you are under thirteen, please do not give us any personal data. If you have reason to believe that a child has provided personal data on PCN/PalmerNaz.org, please contact us as described in the “Contact Us” section below and we will endeavor to delete that information. If you are a child under the age of thirteen and using PCN/PalmerNaz.org, please do not give any information about yourself, such as your name, address, birthdate, phone number, school or email address.

The General Board of the Palmer Church of The Nazarene reviews its Privacy Policy periodically and reserves the right, at its discretion, to modify or remove portions of the Terms of Use relating to privacy at any time.

Security

Pages that collect sensitive data (for example, credit card information) use 128-bit secure server technology in an effort to protect user data.  The secure server software encrypts the information you input before you send it to us.  Secure pages are indicated by the secure icon on your browser window.  We maintain other reasonable and appropriate safeguards to ensure the security, integrity, and privacy of information in our possession.  We reserve the right to monitor traffic patterns and web site usage.

“Cookies” are files that are stored by your browser on your computer’s hard drive.  Our cookies do not contain any personally identifying information about a user.  They enable us to provide customized features to enhance your visit to the web site.  Most web browsers automatically accept cookies.  Users should consult their browser help files for instructions on how to refuse cookies.

Trademarks

Except as set out in the next paragraph immediately below, Nazarene trademarks, service marks, graphics, and logos displayed on PCN/PalmerNaz.org may only be used with the prior written permission of the Palmer Church of The Nazarene, or, as appropriate, the International Church of The Nazarene, and may not be used in connection with any product or service that in any manner misrepresents, disparages, or discredits the Palmer Church of The Nazarene, or the International Church of The Nazarene in general.

The use of these items by churches for commercial purposes or for any other event or purpose is not authorized.  Trademarks, service marks, logos and graphics displayed on PCN/PalmerNaz.org may not be changed, edited, modified, contextualized or translated without the prior written consent of the Palmer Church of The Nazarene, or, as appropriate, the International Church of The Nazarene.

Linking Policy

PCN/PalmerNaz.org may be linked to or from other web sites that are not operated by the Palmer Church of The Nazarene or any of its affiliates.  The Palmer Church of The Nazarene is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those third party web sites.  PCN/PalmerNaz.org may also be linked to web sites operated by organizations affiliated with the Palmer Church of The Nazarene.  Visitors to those web sites should refer to their separate terms of use.

Forums, Chats & Blogs – Rules and Membership Agreement

Registration for these online communities and applications is free.  We insist that you abide by the rules and policies detailed below.

Although the administrators and moderators will attempt to keep all objectionable messages out of these applications, it is impossible for us to review all postings.  All messages express the views of the author, and neither the Palmer Church of The Nazarene nor its service providers will be held responsible for the content of any message.

By agreeing to these Terms of Use, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or violative of any laws.  The Palmer Church of The Nazarene reserves the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread or post for any reason.  Any person may be banned from the communities without warning, for any reason.

The Palmer Church of The Nazarene is not responsible for any copyright violations as a result of your uploaded material, and you will indemnify, defend, and hold the Palmer Church of The Nazarene harmless from and against any claims or actions for such violations or infringements.  You are personally responsible for all material uploaded by you.

Applicable Law; Choice of Forum

PCN/PalmerNaz.org is created and controlled by the Palmer Church of The Nazarene in the State of Alaska, USA.  These Terms of Use, the use of PCN/PalmerNaz.org and all transactions conducted through PCN/PalmerNaz.org will be governed by and construed and enforced under the laws of the State of Alaska (excluding any conflict of laws rules).  These Terms of Use represent the entire understanding relating to the use of PCN/PalmerNaz.org and prevail over any prior or contemporaneous, conflicting or additional, communications.  The exclusive jurisdiction and venue for any legal proceedings relating to these Terms of Use or to PCN/PalmerNaz.org or transactions or activity conducted on or relating to PCN/PalmerNaz.org will be the appropriate state or federal courts in Matanuska-Susitna Borough, Alaska; you consent to such jurisdiction and venue and waive all objections to proceedings in such courts based on jurisdiction, venue or inconvenience of the forum.  

Changes to PCN/PalmerNaz.org or Terms of Use

We may make improvements or changes to PCN/PalmerNaz.org or to the services, products, programs and prices described on PCN/PalmerNaz.org at any time without notice. We may revise these Terms of Use at any time, without prior notice, by posting the revision or the revised Terms of Use on PCN/PalmerNaz.org; any revision is effective upon your accessing this site.
